But what, exactly, are consultations all about? And are they really that important?

Today’s blog covers what you can expect from your one-to-one consultation at our newly renovated aesthetics clinic in Blackburn, how to prepare and the steps forward afterwards. From when you first make contact, we’ll guide you through the process step by step to ease any anxieties you may have and to ensure you have a smooth treatment.

So…what is this Faciem consultation thing all about? 

The consultation at Faciem, to put it very simply, is an hour-long appointment between you and the aesthetician who will be treating you to work out a treatment plan for you that’s going to be effective. That’s it. Not much else to it, but we are absolutely adamant about them for many reasons.

In the same way you wouldn’t want a surgeon to meet you for the first time while you’re already dosed up on the table for your rhinoplasty, we want to get to know you before we treat you – even though fillers and vitamin boosts are temporary. 

The consultation is a time for the aesthetician to speak to you and get to know you – and your face – without any distraction that comes with over the phone conversation or misunderstandings that come with exchanging messages back and forth over the course of a few days. You’ll get the chance to tell your consultant exactly what it is that you want and discuss how to go about achieving that. Better yet, your consultant will be able to see you under clinical lighting so will be able to give you an accurate assessment. Or perhaps you’re not sure about what treatment you want but want to speak to someone with specialist knowledge about which avenue you should go down? There are an abundance of reasons why face-to-face appointments are simply just better.

Most importantly, however, is the designing of your treatment plan with us at Faciem. Whilst you may come in with a firm idea that you want non-surgical rhinoplasty and lip fillers to balance out your profile, our consultations may believe what you actually need is some jawline filler to even out your face. Sometimes what you want and what you need aren’t always the same things, and that’s okay. That’s what we’re here for.

Consultations are unnecessary for me. I only wanted some lip filler; can’t we get that done?

Unfortunately, we do not offer treatments without consultations for the reasons mentioned above. We also believe that you need time to go away and really think about whether you want lip filler, for example, after all the information we’ll be giving you. While you may think you really want the treatment at first, you may go away and change your mind – as many of our clients do. 

Throughout our time in the industry, we’ve come to realise that the clients who walk away the most satisfied are usually the ones who were sure about getting work done after they’ve been through the consultation and vetting process and then gone forward with the treatment.

Wait a minute, vetting process? What’s that all about?

Don’t worry – it more formal than it is. You’ll have gathered by now that at Faciem, our client/injector relationship is the most important element of your time with us at our aesthetics clinic. Sometimes, potential clients approach us with requests we’re not comfortable fulfilling. We work with your face to create natural results at Faciem so if you approach us wanting huge lips that will throw off the symmetry of your face, we’ll politely turn you away as we most likely will not be able to work together.

And honestly? That’s okay – that’s why the consultation experience is vital for both yourselves and us.

Okay, I kind of get it now. What can I expect on the day? Do I need to do anything to prepare?

The only thing you need to prepare is how you’re planning to get to us! We’ll take care of the rest for you!

While it may seem formal and nerve-wracking, the consultation really is just a casual chat over a hot drink of your choice where we discuss your wants and needs, your treatment plan and also any concerns you may have.

What happens after? Can I get treated ASAP?

We don’t treat clients on the same day as their consultation even if they’re 100% sure they want the treatment. If you’re sure on the day, we’ll book you in for an appointment within the week on the day of your consultation. If you want to go away and need time to think about it, we’ll book you in for an appointment after you’ve contacted us.

We never pressure clients to buy treatments they don’t need; that’s why we’re so strict on our policy.
